LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Tim Robbins has been named assistant men's lacrosse coach at Siena College. Robbins will be responsible for developing the face-off men and goalies as well as helping coach the midfielders and defensemen.

"I am very excited with the addition of coach Robbins to our staff," said head coach Brian Brecht. "Coach Robbins has proved to be a very good teacher and mentor with the goalies and face-off men he has worked with in the past and I am very excited to have his expertise with us here at Siena."

Robbins served as an assistant coach at Bucknell University the past two years. He worked with face-off specialists and goalies and was responsible for all in-game substitutions. He guided Bucknell's goalie to the best save percentage and goals-against average in the nation in 2007. Bucknell reached the Patriot League semifinals in 2007 and the finals in 2008.

Robbins spent a year at Wheaton College as head assistant coach and defensive coordinator in 2006. He was responsible for the defensive unit, recruiting student-athletes and developing the strength and conditioning program. Robbins helped lead Wheaton to the Pilgrim League semifinals that year.

In the summer of 2006, Robbins served as head coach for the AAU Lax New England District 2 team and guided them to a bronze medal at the 2006 Junior Olympics.

Robbins played four years of lacrosse at Springfield College, starting each year at midfield. Springfield was ranked top-10 in the nation all four years and reached the NCAA Tournament in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Robbins was elected captain his senior year.

Robbins earned his bachelor's degree in business management with a minor in economics from Springfield College in 2005.
