John Bamford Named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week

EDISON, NJ- Siena College men's lacrosse player John Bamford (Woodbridge, VA/ Woodbridge) has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league this afternoon.

Bamford spent the final two regular season games between the pipes, stopping 26 shots. Against Marist College he halted 12 shots, while scooping two groundballs, keeping the Red Foxes off the board for 15 minutes. In the win against St. Joseph's University, he held the Hawks scoreless for 30 minutes, while stopping 14 shots. Bamford finished the season after playing 319:50 minutes in seven games, scooping five groundballs and caused one turnover.

For the week he had a 72% save percentage and a goal against average of 5.00.
