Loudonville, N.Y. - Siena sophomore men's lacrosse goalie Brent Herbst was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week as announced by conference headquarters. It was Herbst's league leading fourth time he was awarded this honor during ten weeks of voting this season.

Herbst concluded the regular season leading the Saints to a pair of wins. He posted a 6.50 goals against average combined in the victories over Marist and Mount St. Mary's, while accruing a spectacular save percentage of .629. He also added five groundballs.

Herbst concluded the season with arguably one of the best performances in goal ever seen in program history. As of Sunday's updated national statistics, Herbst ranked second in all of Division I in goals against average (6.07) and save percentage (.640).

For the second straight season as Siena's top goaltender, he was a major factor in leading the Saints to an identical 10-6 overall record, while posting a career best 10-5 record between the pipes.
