Liam Gleason enters his second season as assistant men's lacrosse coach at Siena College. Gleason serves Siena in its day-to-day operations of the men's lacrosse office.
Gleason, a former close defenseman and long stick midfielder at UAlbany, helped the Great Danes to the 2007 America East Conference championship posting a program best 15-3 mark. He was a key contributor on this UAlbany team who advanced to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals.
"We are very excited to have someone of Liam's character, work ethic, passion and understanding of the game join our program," said head coach Brian Brecht. "There is no doubt he will be a great addition to help further develop our young defensive squad. Liam has excelled at every level he has played at, and we look forward to him helping this program earn a MAAC Championship."
Gleason's coaching experience stems from his tenure at the Shoreham Wading River Lacrosse Camp where he oversaw camp operations and coached varsity athletes for the past four summers. Additionally, Gleason served as an instructor at the All-Star Lacrosse Camp in Flagstaff, Ariz. and the Siena Athletics lacrosse camp last summer.
