Robby Bigley Captures Annual Gazette Men's County Amateur Golf Championship

Schenectady, N.Y.- Siena men's golfer Robby Bigley followed in his father's footsteps on Sunday as he captured the annual Gazette Men's County Amateur Golf Championship at Schenectady Municipal Golf Course. Bigley's father, a five-time champion, also won his first crown in the same tournament at the age of 19.

Bigley (66-210)shot six-under-par 66 in the final round to defeat three-time champion Paul Pratico by three strokes. He started the final round two strokes behind co-leaders Pratico, Ed Chyslinski and Jim Mueller. Pratico(71-213) and Chyslinski (73-215) finished in the second and third spots, respectively, while Mueller captured fifth place.

Bigley's brother, Bryan (73-217), finished in a tie for fourth.

Bigley led the Saints in scoring average this season and was named the team's Rookie of the Year.
