Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena Men's Golf team stands in ninth place overall following the first day of the Cornell Invitational at the Robert Trent Jones golf course in Ithaca, N.Y. The Saints shot a combined score of 607 (299-308) following the two rounds played on Saturday.

Longwood University leads after day one of the invitational following a team score of 580, while St. Bonaventure sits in second place currently at 583.

Junior co-captain Dan Abbondandolo (Oyster Bay Cove, N.Y./St. Dominic) stole the show on Saturday, firing a two round score of 143 (70-73), placing him in a current tie for third in the individual rankings. The composite score of 143 ranks as Abbondandolo's best two round total in his already brilliant Siena career.

Teammates Chris Haggerty (Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury) and Don DeNyse III (Albany, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy) paced the remainder of the Siena field shooting a 153 (76-77) and 155 (73-82) respectively.

The third and final round of the Cornell Invitational gets underway Sunday morning at 8 a.m.
