Men's Golfers Finish Tied for Fifth at MAAC Championships

Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena men's golf team concluded the 2008 MAAC Championships tied for fifth this afternoon in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Loyola College won the team championship, ending Siena's run of back-to-back conference championships.

The Greyhounds cruised to victory, finishing 14 strokes ahead of Rider. Iona finished third and Niagara fourth. The Saints tied Fairfield for fifth, finishing 33 shots off the pace.

Reigning MAAC Golfer of the Month, Loyola's Michael Mulieri, won the individual championship with a three round score of -5 (211). Siena junior co-captain Dan Abbondandolo finished close behind at +3 (219) for the weekend.

Freshman Don DeNyse III also placed in the top-10, tying for 10th individually with a seven over par score of 223.
