Men's Golfers Remain in Fifth After Day 2 of MAAC Championships

Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena men's golf team remains in fifth place following the second day of competition at the 2008 MAAC Men's Golf Championships held in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Junior captain Dan Abbondandolo currently stands second overall individually, but the Saints are 18 strokes back of clubhouse leader Loyola heading into the final round of play tomorrow.

The Greyhounds have a two round score of 592, six shots ahead of second place Rider. The Saints composite score is 610 as the Green and Gold currently also trail Fairfield and Iona.

Abbondandolo has shot rounds of 75 and 69 respectively and stands at even par currently (144) through two rounds of play. He sits just three strokes behind leader Michael Mulieri of Loyola who shot a course leading five under par 67 this afternoon and has a two round score of 141.

Teammate Don DeNyse III has also played well and is amongst the individual leaders as well at 147 overall (+3), good for a seventh place tie.

The final round of the championships concludes tomorrow with a 7:30 a.m. tee time.
