Loudonville, N.Y. - Junior co-captain Dan Abbondandolo fired a three round score of two under par as he finished fifth overall and led the Siena men's golf team to an eighth place finish at the Mount St. Mary's Invitational which completed this afternoon in Littlestown, Pa. In his final tune up before the MAAC Championships, Abbondandolo shot a pair of rounds of 70 before closing out play with a respectable third round score of 74.

Longwood ran away with the tournament, finishing 20 strokes better than second place Army who boasted the competitions individual winner Matt Krembel who fired a remarkable ten under par for the weekend.

As a squad, Siena shot a three round score of 908, finishing just behind seventh place Fairleigh Dickinson (903) in finishing in the top half of the 18 team field.

Don DeNyse III was the Saints' second highest finisher at +9 over three rounds, while James Gifford completed play at a solid +13.

The Saints return to action on Friday as they look to defend their conference crown at the 2008 MAAC Men's Golf Championships. The four day competition runs through Apr. 27 and will be played this year in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
