Loudonville, N.Y. - The Siena men's golf team had perhaps their best showing of the spring season, finishing seventh in a stacked 25 team field at the Lafayette Invitational held this weekend in Center Valley, Pa. Don DeNyse III and Dan Abbondandolo paced the Saints as both completed the two rounds of play in 10th and 11th places respectively.

Bucknell, which had entered the final round one stroke back of the Saints, shot a final team round score of 291 to capture the team crown. Saint Francis' (Pa.) Mike Magalski won the individual title.

Siena shot a two round team score of 614, finishing just 20 shots off the pace, although they were only eight strokes behind fourth place Mount St. Mary's.

DeNyse shot rounds of 75 and 73 for a two round scorecard of 148. Abbondandolo finished just one shot behind him teammate and fired an impressive round of 70 on the opening day. James Gifford had a solid weekend as well with rounds of 77 and 79.

The Saints return to action Friday for the Mount St. Mary's Invitational to be held at Quail Valley in Littlestown, Pa.
