Siena and Union Set for Saturday Scrimmage
Nov. 6, 2008
The Siena men's basketball team will play its only open exhibition game this season against Union College Saturday at 7 p.m. on UHY Court in the Alumni Recreation Center. The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a limited edition Tay Fisher bobblehead doll and every fan will receive a special commemorative magazine highlighting the Saints' memorable 2007-08 campaign. Tickets are priced at $20 for adults and $10 for children 14 and under. The proceeds will help offset the cost of the Saints' recent foreign tour. Siena students will receive complimentary admission. All tickets are general admission and can be purchased on-line at SienaSaints.com or at the door the night of the game. It marks the first Siena men's basketball game open to the general public at Alumni Recreation Center in over 10 years. The Saints defeated Korabel-Ukraine 84-68 on Nov. 6, 1998 in the last public exhibition on campus. Siena and Union have not played since the Saints turned Division I. The Saints (then Indians) won the last meeting between the two schools 69-64 during the 1975-76 season and hold a 4-3 all-time series advantage. Siena opens its season Monday, November 17 against Boise State in the second half of a men's/women's doubleheader at Times Union center beginning at 5:30 p.m.
