The Siena men's basketball team was selected fifth in the CollegeInsider.com Preseason Mid-Major Poll. The Saints trailed only Gonzaga, Davidson, St. Mary's and Creighton. Additionally, senior Kenny Hasbrouck and junior Edwin Ubiles were selected to CollegeInsider's 25-member Preseason Mid-Major All-American Team.

The Mid-Major poll is voted on by 31 head coaches from various Mid-Major conferences. The poll is made up of teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Colonial, Horizon, Independents, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit League, Sun Belt, West Coast.

Hasbrouck was named the 2007-08 CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Player of the Year, and Ubiles was a Mid-Major All-American selection as a junior.

Hasbrouck received further recognition from the Philadelphia Examiner which named him to their exclusive five-member Mid-Major Preseason Team.
