Head coach Fran McCaffery announced the suspension of sophomore swingman Edwin Ubiles Friday for academic reasons. The suspension is immediate and indefinite.

"This decision was made with Edwin's best interests in mind," McCaffery said. "I'm hopeful that he can rededicate himself to his studies and make the necessary adjustments to return to our program. Siena has excellent support services and we will continue to assist him in every way possible."

Ubiles was named MAAC Rookie of the Year last season after averaging 11.8 points and four rebounds per game.

The Saints will hold their annual Green and Gold scrimmage at the Alumni Recreation Center Saturday afternoon following the women's volleyball match with Loyola which begins at 2 p.m.
