Chris De La Rosa Leaving Siena Men's Basketball Program

May 1, 2008

Chris De la Rosa has informed head men's basketball coach Fran McCaffery that he will not return to the Siena men's basketball program for his sophomore season. De La Rosa announced his intention to transfer.

"Chris was a valuable member of our championship season," McCaffery said. "I appreciate his contributions, and everyone associated with Siena basketball wishes him the best of luck."

De La Rosa appeared in 33 games averaging 9.5 minutes and 2.5 points per contest as a reserve point guard for the Saints during the 2007-2008 season.

Siena posted a 23-11 overall record in 2007-2008, claimed the MAAC Regular-Season and Tournament Championship and knocked off Vanderbilt in the NCAA Tournament First Round. All five starters return next season.
