ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) - Torrell Martin scored 18 points and James Shuler added 13 to lead Winthrop to a 67-58 victory over Siena on Sunday.

The Eagles (5-2) started slow but went on a 16-0 run in the final minutes of the opening period. Siena (0-6) was held scoreless for more than four minutes, but scored five unanswered points to trail by seven at halftime.

Antoine Jordan scored 14 points for Siena and Michael Haddix added 13 and four assists.

Winthrop increased its lead to 13 midway through the second half. Siena cut the lead to six twice, the last coming with 1:06 left. But Chris Gaynor saved a loose ball from going out of bounds and his pass gave Martin a layup with 37 seconds to seal the victory.

Both teams struggled from the field. The Eagles were shot just 38.8 percent compared with 36.7 percent by Siena.

Billy Houston had six blocked shots for Winthrop.
