Siena Falls Short At Hofstra

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) -- Adrian Uter scored a career-high 27 points on 12-of-13 shooting to lead Hofstra to a 76-62 victory over Siena Saturday for its 18th straight win at home.

Antoine Agudio followed with 19 points for the Pride (19-5), who have won seven of their last eight games overall and are tied with Duke for the second-longest home winning streak in the nation. Gonzaga leads the nation with 36 straight home victories.

Tay Fisher and Kojo Mensah each had 19 points for the Saints (13-12), who had a three-game winning streak snapped.

Siena used a 9-0 run to take a 34-26 lead with 1:36 remaining in the first half.

After Mensah connected on a three-point play to give Siena a 37-32 lead less than one minute into the second half, Uter scored five points in a 9-0 rally that put the Pride on top, 41-37, at 16:55. Two foul shots by Siena's Kenny Hasbrouck tied the score at 48-48 with 12:32 to play.

Uter followed with six points during a 19-5 run for Hofstra, which put gave the Pride a 14-point lead with over 7 minutes to play.
