Saints Fall To Red Foxes

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.- Ryan Stilpen scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Marist to a 77-66 win over Siena on Friday night.

Stilpen went 7-of-9 to lead four Marist players in double figures. Carl Hood had 14 points, Will McClurkin scored 12 and Will Whittington chipped in 10 for the Red Foxes (5-7, 2-1 MAAC).

Marist held Siena (3-10, 1-2) to 33.8 percent shooting while hitting 57.4 percent from the floor. The Saints hit just 8 of 27 from 3-point range.

The Red Foxes jumped to a 12-2 lead early in the first half and held a 39-33 advantage at the half.

Siena came back in the second half, closing the gap to 57-56 on a jumper by Antoine Jordan with 8:34 remaining.

But Marist responded with a 10-0 run over the next 2:57 to take an 11-point lead with 5:37 remaining. The Saints could get no closer than nine the rest of the way.

Tommy Mitchell led Siena with 22 points while Jordan added 16 points and 15 rebounds.
