Siena Falls To Fairfield, 81-79

Jan. 5, 2006

Box Score

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - DeWitt Maxwell had 18 points and 10 rebounds and Jonathan Han's runner with 26 seconds left helped Fairfield beat Siena 81-79 Thursday night.

Maxwell scored 12 second-half points as Fairfield (3-7, 1-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) overcame a 14-point deficit to win its second straight game. Terrence Todd added 14 points for the Stags and Han scored 11.

Antoine Jordan led five players in double figures for Siena (6-5, 1-2) with 19 points and 14 rebounds. David Ryan scored 16 and Mike Beers 13.

Fairfield took its first lead of the game on a pair of Maxwell free throws with 2:30 remaining. But Siena, which shot 57.7 percent in the first half and 41.2 in the second, regained the lead at 76-75.

That's when Han penetrated, spun and hit a runner off the glass with 26 seconds remaining. Fairfield made all four of its free throws in the final seven seconds and twice fouled to prevent Siena from attempting 3-pointers.
