Stephen Ott begins his second season on McCaffery's staff as the director of basketball operations. Ott assists the coaching staff in all aspects of the program, playing a vital role in the oversight of the team's film exchange during the season.

Ott spent the season prior to his arrival at Siena as assistant men's basketball coach at Ulster County Community College in Stone Ridge, N.Y.

A 2005 graduate of the State University of New York at New Paltz, Ott was a four-year varsity starter and two-time team captain. He was twice selected team MVP during his playing days and named MVP of the SUNYAC Tournament in 2003.

At Ulster, Ott was responsible for a variety of tasks including scouting, game and practice preparation and recruiting. He also coordinated off-season weight training and supervised individual workouts and study hall. Ulster improved its win total by eight games during the 2005-06 season, placing third in the inaugural Mid-Hudson Athletic Conference Tournament.

Ott has worked at a variety of camps across the Northeast, including the 2006 Eastern Invitational and now plays a key role in the Siena Basketball Team and Day Camps.
