July 1, 2008

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Former Siena shortstop Chris Klepps (Bristol, Conn./Bristol Central) signed a professional baseball contract with the Windy City Thunderbolts of the Independent Frontier League last Friday in Crestwood, Illinois. Klepps already produced for the Thunderbolts, going 1-for-2 with an RBI on Saturday.

A 2008 MAAC Second Team selection, Klepps finished his senior year second on the team in batting, with a .343 average. He led the team and tied the school's single-season record with 54 runs scored. He also owns the single-season record with his 23 doubles this past season.

Klepps moved into third place on the school's all-time hit list by collecting 225 hits during his career.

The Thunderbolts play tonight at the Rockford River Hawks at 7:05 p.m.
