Senior shortstop Chris Klepps was named MAAC Baseball Player of the Week this afternoon by league officials. The Bristol, Conn. native went an amazing 8-for-14 from the plate (.571 AVG) while scoring four runs and adding a double and an RBI in the three game series against national power Central Florida.
Klepps was also solid in the field, tallying four putouts and 12 assists while only committing one error. The first game of the doubleheader on Saturday was one of the finest performances of his career, going 5-for-6 with four runs scored.
Klepps and the rest of the Saints have their home opener slated for this Wednesday at 3 p.m. against Holy Cross.
