Drew Pearce begins his first year at Siena where he will work primarily with the outfielders and serve as a hitting coach. Pearce recently served as the coach of the Amsterdam Mohawks of the New York Collegiate Baseball League. He is currently the General Manager of the Amsterdam Mohawks Organizations specializing in revenue generation through sponsorships, innovative marketing and community relations. Prior to making the move to New York, Pearce resided in Manhattan Beach, Calif. Pearce is a graduate of California at Berkeley where he played baseball for the Golden Bears. He was the ace for the Golden Bears as a sophomore, posting a 9-5 record and a 3.22 ERA in the Pac-10. Pearce collected victories over perennial powerhouse teams such as USC, Long Beach St., Pepperdine, Arizona and Fresno St. Pearce played in the prestigious Alaska Collegiate Baseball Summer League after his freshman year registering a 5-1 record with a 2.01 ERA. He earned two international wins against All-Star teams in Korea and Japan. After signing a contract to play in the Cape Cod League following his sophomore season, he tore a ligament in his throwing elbow. After missing his junior season with Tommy John surgery, he came back and tore his rear rotator cuff as a senior. Pearce had been drafted by the New York Yankees out of high school. Pearce is the son of Ken and Dee Dee Pearce who reside in Mountain View, Calif. His father is an engineer for Lockheed Martin and his mother teaches Advanced Placement history at Los Altos High School. His sister Kristin and her husband Josh Gibbs live in Chagrin Falls, Ohio with their two children, Alison and Pearce. Both work for Nestle USA. Drew is currently living in Albany. |
