GENERAL: Equips a useful mix of speed and offense...Was a regular in the lineup last season, seeing the majority of his action in centerfield...Excellent defensive player who patrols the spacious gaps of Siena field with ease...Possesses good speed and hits for contact, which makes him a solid option at the top or bottom of the batting order.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Started all 44 games...Totaled 41 hits in 160 at bats for an average of .256...Scored 29 runs and drove in 15...Stole 13 bases on 16 attempts...Did not make an error all season and had four outfield assists...Went 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI in the backend of a doubleheader with Vermont (4/10)...Went 2-for-4 with his only home run of the season, two RBI and a stolen base in the last game of the season against Marist (5/18).

AS A FRESHMAN: Started 12 of the 29 games he appeared in...Had 13 base hits in 59 at bats and scored eight runs finishing with a .220 average...Stole three bases in three tries and drove in six runs...Went 2-for-4, scoring once and stealing two bases against conference rival LeMoyne (4/16) to help the Saints to a 4-2 win.

BEFORE SIENA: Garnered Freshman Scholar-Athlete Award at Stoneham... Named to the Middlesex All-League Team in baseball his sophomore, junior, and senior years...Captured the Middlesex League batting title as a sophomore, while posting a .530 batting average...Named MVP of the Scevio Prep Tournament...Hit .383 with 15 RBI, while registering eight stolen bases during his senior campaign...Named to the American Legion All-Star Team during the summer following his senior year...Also played in the Bay State Games before matriculating to Siena...Lettered in football, basketball, and baseball, where he was named co-captain in all three sports.

ROSSI ON DEFILLIPO: "Jason did a credible job last year in his first full season as a starter. He completed the year without an error playing in all but one game. He needs to step it up offensively and improve his on-base percentage as an upperclassman. How quickly he returns from a summer injury will be a deciding factor for him this year."
