Siena Cross Country Runs at Iona Meet of Champions

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Siena College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Iona College Meet of Champions on Saturday afternoon at VanCortlandt Park in Riverdale. Siena's men's team finished 14th of 14 teams, while the women finished 17th of 17 teams.

On the men's side, Dartmouth placed four runners among the top-10 to win the team competition with 40 points. Iona finished second, followed by Brown.

Siena was led by freshman Chris Bruno (Wallingford, Conn./Notre Dame), who finished in 91st, running the five-mile course in 31:08.3

On the women's side, Brown placed five runners among the top-20 and won with 52 points, edging Boston University (67).

Siena was led by freshman Dana Birbiglia (Belmore, N.Y./Mepham), who ran the five-kilometer course in 22:26.9 and finished 113th overall.
