The Siena women's cross country team was named an NCAA Academic All-American Team for the sixth straight season. The Women's Intercollegiate Cross Country Coaches Association recently made the announcement.

For a team to be considered an All-Academic team, it must post a cumulative team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The Siena women's 3.44 team GPA ranked 45th nationally among 321 schools. Iona was the only other school in the MAAC to make the list.

"Our women's team has had a great history of performing at a high level on the course and in the classroom," head coach Jim Bowles said. "This is a great accomplishment and one we do not take for granted. To be selected for six straight years shows the commitment we have to academic excellence."

Earlier last month, the men's cross country program was also recognized as an Academic All-American team with distinction.
