The Siena men's and women's cross country teams each placed second in the Fairfield Invitational Saturday in Connecticut. Darren Legere placed second individually for the Siena men which won a tiebreaker with Saint Francis to claim second place.

Sacred Heart's Kathleen Henry captured the individual title for the women with a time of 18:32.4 while teammate Katie Duffy was the runner-up in a time of 19:04.1. The Pioneers captured the women's team title with 24 points followed by Siena (53), Fairfield (75), St. Francis (100), NJIT (154), St. Peter's (156).

Sacred Heart also captured the men's individual and team titles. In a rare occurrence, Siena and St. Francis (NY) both finished with 52 team points, but due to the tie-breaker, Siena was awarded second place while St. Francis received third place. Rounding out the group was Fairfield (93) and St. Peter's (147).
