Jason Rich
Jason Rich enters his eighth year as the Siena College sports information director. He oversees all publications and promotional efforts for Siena's 18 Division I varsity sports. Rich also serves as the chief editor for all athletic publications and media releases while handling the maintenance of the department's website. Rich served as the marketing/ sports information assistant prior to his promotion in November 1999. At Siena, Rich has overseen an aggressive public relations campaign that has included the production of media guides (print or electronic) for all 18 sports. He has also supervised the development and content of the newly redesigned Siena athletic website. In 2001, Rich was recognized for his dedication to the department by Siena's student-athletes, when he was presented with the Student Athlete Advisory Committee award. In 2003, Rich was the co-media coordinator for the NCAA men’s basketball Albany Regional at Pepsi Arena. This past season, he was a volunteer in the press room at the men’s basketball Washington Regional and served as media moderator for the NCAA women’s basketball First and Second Round in Trenton, N.J. An active member of both CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) and ECAC-SIDA (East Coast Athletic Conference), Rich served on the 2001 ECAC-SIDA Workshop Organizing Committee and was a member of the CoSIDA Ethics Committee (2003-2005). Rich has served on several committees organized by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference including the 2002-2003 men’s basketball operational committee and is a current member of the women’s lacrosse operations committee. A 1998 graduate of Siena with a degree in finance and concentrations in English and marketing/management, Rich began his career in athletics as an undergraduate intern with the Siena baseball team. Upon graduation, he accepted an internship with the Albany-Colonie Diamond Dogs of the Northern League where he handled many of the media relations responsibilities. A native of New Hartford, N.Y., Rich currently resides in Albany.
