Collecting Data
Each Subcommittee will be responsible for collecting data
pertinent to its operating principle. Some of the data will come from
College records and some from interviews with appropriate campus groups.
Steering committee appointments were made to ensure that individuals with
access to relevant data were appointed to the Steering Committee and/or the
appropriate Subcommittee.
Analyzing Data
Each Subcommittee will interpret the data collected to
respond to the questions in its specific area. In this step, the questions
will be answered, but an evaluation will not yet take place. The
descriptive answers will be the foundation upon which the subsequent
evaluation will be based. The Subcommittee is responsible for completing
any necessary forms required by the self-study instrument.
Determine Conformity to Operating Principle
The Subcommittee will use its report to determine the
College's conformity with the operating principles specific to its
self-study area. The Subcommittee will present a draft of this evaluation
to the Steering Committee, which will review the draft and return it to the
Subcommittee with questions. This process will continue until the Steering
Committee approves the report.
Plans for Improvement
Finally, each Subcommittee will recommend plans for improvement for the
Athletic program or actions that may need to be taken to bring the program
into conformity with Certification operating principles. Recommendations
will be submitted to the Steering Committee for review.
