Goal of the Self Study
Siena College is committed to the NCAA Certification process. The purpose
of the self-study is to ensure that Siena operates its Athletic Department
with integrity and within the mission of the College. The college aspires
to meet five goals during the Certification process:
1. Examine, evaluate and document the extent to which Siena meets the NCAA operating principles for governance and commitment to rules compliance; academic integrity; and equity and welfare.
2. Identify the Department's strengths and any areas that need improvement and develop strategies and recommendations for improvement.
3. To open the affairs of the Athletic Department to the community through a broad based dissemination of the self-study materials and through community involvement.
4. To conduct a broad based self-study process through the participation of the Siena and local community that includes administrators, faculty, staff, students, student-athletes, alumni, and Athletic Department personnel.
Successfully complete the self-study process, present a final report and be certified.
