The Siena athletic department will host the inaugural Gino Turchi & Family Golf Classic on Monday, October 8. The event begins with an 11 a.m. lunch to be followed by a 12 p.m. shotgun start. Dinner is slated to start at 6 p.m. with hour d'oeuvres and a cash bar set to take place at 5 p.m.
The Invitational honors a family very important to Siena College, its athletic department and the Capital Region community. Over the years, Gino and Willie Turchi (his wife of 67 years) have developed a special relationship with many Siena students. All proceeds from the event will be added to the Turchi Family Athletic Fund at Siena College.
The entry fee of $300 per person or $1,200 per foursome covers green fees, cart, on-course beverages, lunch, hour d'oeuvres, dinner and mementos for each participant. There are a very limited number of foursomes still available.
Those interested in attending the cocktail reception and dinner may purchase the "Dinner Only" option for $75. Dinner includes a carving station (Prime Rib and Salmon), a salad station (Tossed, Caesar and Caprese), a pasta station (Ala Vodka and Alfredo) and dessert and coffee served at each table.
The format of the Invitational is individual stroke play, using a best two of four ball set-up. Prizes for the top three gross and net winners include: Four tickets to a New York Jets game, Four Tickets to a Boston Celtics vs. Cleveland Cavaliers game at Boston Garden, Four tickets to the 2008 Preakness Stakes, $500 credit per foursome at Mohawk Golf Club Pro Shop, $300 credit per foursome at Mohawk Golf Club Pro Shop and a Foursome at Normanside Country Club.
