Siena Athletics Chooses the Lefler Agency as Advertising Agency of Record

Aug. 16, 2007

The Siena College athletic department has entered into a 3-year contract with The Leffler Agency of Baltimore and Tampa to increase its ticket sales and unify its marketing campaign.

Leffler represents more sports clients (25) than any other advertising agency in the country. Their recent work has concentrated on college sports programs. Their campaigns include the University of Connecticut's successful transition to Division I-A football, and last season the agency helped increase George Mason's basketball attendance by 70,000.

"Siena basketball is already a great entertainment attraction and one of the top sports options in the Capital Region," director of athletics John D'Argenio commented. "Our goal is to further expand our season ticket base and provide our fans with a first class experience at each home game. Leffler has the best track record in the country for growing attendance for college basketball and they will help us achieve these goals."

"We view Siena Saints basketball at the Times Union Center as an entertainment property with a strong upside in a market with a sophisticated sports audience," said Leffler CEO Chris Raynor. "The agency will build a thematic campaign that will be memorable and provide unity."

The initiative will feature the development of a unified marketing campaign that includes new ticket products and outbound sales initiatives for both season plans and groups.
